What to check before buying
Pre-facelift X253 diesels carry the 2.1’s familiar habits — cold rattle and injector-area weeps — so listen and look before falling for a price; post-2019 OM654 cars are the easier ownership. Air-suspension cars must sit level overnight and cycle heights without protest. On plug-ins, demand charging evidence, healthy indicated range and both cables.
